Great place to base yourself if you plan to do day trips around the Overberg region to Arniston, Cape Aghulus, Marloth, Bontebok and De Hoop Nature Reserves, as well as the wine region on route 62.

Swellendam offers various sights like the museum, the Berry Farm and the Bontebok National Park.

There are long and short hiking trails in the park. Try the Vagabonde restaurant for quality food. There is some awesome scenery of the mountains.

There is so much to see and do in and around Swellendam. The museum was brilliant. The history of the area is so interesting. I highly recommend the town for an extremely relaxing getaway.

A lovely town! We didn't have time to explore too much of the town as we were mostly at Up the Creek (which has amazing views), but can highly recommend the Woodpecker Deli Pizzeria as you enter Swellendam. Very cosy and friendly restaurant with absolutely delicious food at very reasonable prices. Will definitely visit them again!
