A great destination for a night or 2 with many interesting people and lovely historical houses! Worth a visit. Beware of the potholed roads!

Totally overrated. The town is in a poor state (streets, properties,access roads etc). Guest houses one can see are battling to cope. The Laurens van der Post Museum is clearly not maintained. We had a good dinner at Oom Japie se Huis, but the price was exuberant.

A town seperate from the hustle and bustle of city life. Tucked away in the Free State, a town surprisingly rich in history, including sites of anglo-boer history. The Job huis is a must see with art works that will touch you spiritually. For peace and quite get away to Philippolis. Defintely worth the drive.
