Description

Experience the rustic beauty of a new lodge in the heart of Kwa-Zulu Natal's thorn veld. The Moorings Lodge is situated on the shores of Wagendrift dam and has panoramic views of the dam and adjoining hills.

It consists of two fully furnished self-catering chalets which each sleep six.

Access for guests is exclusively by boat and guests will be ferried to and from the lodge if need be. The dam is clean and is an ideal getaway for families who enjoy fishing, watersports, birding and the peaceful outdoors. Swim in the dam, learn to ski, enjoy a sunset cruise, or watch all the dam's activities from the beautiful veranda.

Due to the remote location, electricity is provided by a generator which is run at predetermined times.

Weekend at Moorings Lodge

Getting away from the busy streets of Johannesburg to Moorings Lodge was bliss. The beautiful setting in the hills, with only the sound of nature, was the perfect weekend getaway. The scenery was breathtaking and serene.

Moorings lodge offers a well equipped self-catering unit that is clean, beautiful and comfortable. the hosts are welcoming and informed us about the sites to see in the area. We had a most adventurous stay being out on the water in a little fishermans boat - husband fishing and children enjoying the ride on the water. It is a peaceful place and the idea of having to get on the water to go anywhere made it a different experience.
