Description
Relax in one of two hand-built cottages equipped to a high standard and located in the grounds of Driftwood Sculpture Studios, facing the Kwelera Coastal Nature Reserve, with the secluded beach just a short walk away. Children have the whole grounds to explore, vervet monkeys to imitate, a sandpit and slide, chickens they can feed, and the chance to make friends with two other resident monkeys, Angus and Anna.
Driftwood Cottage is a unique thatched tree house furnished with a queen-size bed and, if required, two comfy fold down beds for children. The unit features a bath and toilet upstairs, as well as a deck off the first floor bedroom in the trees. Enjoy a shower amid the tall flowering ginger. Guests are free to self-cater in the fully-equipped kitchen/diner downstairs, outside in the leafy courtyard, or enjoy star gazing from the adjacent braai area.
Kuti Cottage is newly built and beautifully appointed, comprising of two en-suite rooms with separate entrances. One room features a queen-size bed and an Oregon pine kitchen and diner. The adjacent Rose Room has a double and a single bed. Guests are invited to eat outside under the milkwood tree at the stone picnic table or at the adjacent forest braai site.
Staying at Driftwood Studios will be a delight for birdwatchers, anglers, and surfers, safe and fun for children, and ideal for an artists or writers retreat. The beach is part of the Standloper Trail and has rock pools, shells, and of course driftwood.
Private parking areas and paths lead to each cottage. George and Claire will be on hand to help you make your stay a memorable and enjoyable one.

Beach: Take a five-minute walk on a quiet gravel road or take the winding forest path to a great fishing and surf spot.
Family: Plenty of safe outdoor space to run around in, trees to climb, a sandpit, and plastic bikes. The hens may wake you up, but the kids will love helping collect the eggs.
Relaxation: Enjoy the sound of the waves, great safe walks in the fresh air, no TV, surrounded by nature, rainwater to drink and bathe in, comfy beds, and starry skies.
