Tarantaalrand Gastehuis is situated in a tranquil area close to the city centre in Upington, a convenient stopover for those travelling on the Kalahari-Namaqua-Namibia (Namakwari) Route to and from Johannesburg and Cape Town. We offer a small and comfortable self-catering guest house with two large double rooms equipped with double beds.
There is a large air-conditioned, open-plan living area with comfortable couches and a communal television with full DStv for guests’ enjoyment. There is a fully equipped kitchen for great entertainment, however, with prior notice we can arrange breakfast at extra charge. There is a small swimming pool for the hot days in summer.
The area is best known for its export-quality grapes, raisins and wines, which are cultivated on the rich flood plains of the Orange River. The Orange River is also a major source of relaxation and entertainment for travellers and locals alike; its beauty and tranquility attracts people from all over the country. Upington also boasts many beautifully landscaped gardens, rose beds and large graceful trees. Upington is a favourite hotspot for thrilling activities such as boating, fishing, golfing as well as water skiing.
