Description
Mount Everest Game Farm is a game reserve of approximately 1000 hectares in the scenic Eastern Free State. The farm offers caravan and camping sites as well as nine chalets set amongst the hilltops to ensure total privacy.
Each self-catering chalet has a living room, a fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms with showers or baths. The rooms are furnished with bunk beds, single beds and double beds, effectively sleeping up to 12 people. A braai area is also available to guests at most of the sites.
Conference facilities are available and an overhead projector and whiteboard is available for use. The venue and facilities are suitable for business meetings, weddings and team building excursions.
For your entertainment, there is a games room fitted with DStv, table tennis, board games and a mini gym equipped with a treadmill, exercise bicycle and free weights. Guests can also enjoy rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, swimming or drives in open cross-country vehicles to view the more than 22 species of game on the farm. Bushman caves can also be found in the mountains.

Wooden log cabin chalets each comprising two beds downstairs and two beds upstairs. The bathrooms are shared. There are patios from where guests can enjoy the view of the farm. Braai facilities are provided at two of the chalets - the other units need to use the camping braai facilities. Kitchens are fully equipped and include stoves, refrigerators and microwaves. Two of the chalets are gas powered.

Two guest rooms accommodating four people in each room in a two single beds or a double bed are in the loft area and two single beds on ground floor. There is an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. At the Ouhout Guest Rooms, there are no self-catering facilities. Coffee and tea is provided in the room and a continental breakfast is served between 7 am and 9 am in the Ouhout Restaurant, about 100 metres from the rooms. Dinner can be arranged by appointment.

Open grass areas surround the chalets, acting as play areas for children.

We had a wonderfully restful and comforatble stay at Mount Everest. Having two young children, we chose to stay in the 10 bed chalet at the centre of the farm, giving the little ones place to run and play, sheep and lambs to learn about and game to watch aswell. Thank you to Amanda and her husband who are friendly and helpful hosts.

Very enjoyable stay and very friendsly hosts! The setting was relaxed, beautiful and the accommodation very nice. We enjoyed a lovely evening fire whilst looking up the slope of the mountain with the farm lands behind us. The self catering facilities were above standard. This is definitely a place for rock climbers and for those wanting a little peace and quiet in a rustic farm setting. Will definitely be going back again soon.
